I tried to lift my Hyundai Elantra but it was very awkward.

I tried to lift my Hyundai Elantra but it was very difficult to turn the handle. The handle is flimsy and there is a small post that has to carry most of the weight when turning. I returned it for a heavier jack that you pump up and down instead of spinning.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • So far so good

WARNING do not buy this jack! That .

ATTENTION, do not buy this jack! It's not safe. Received this product today and tested it on a corner of my UTV to raise the rear tire off the ground (total vehicle weight is 1500 lbs) and it failed. The teeth on the upper block failed to hold and the car fell. Luckily I didn't hurt myself. Stay away! See photos for explanation. It's rated at 3,000 pounds, I wouldn't trust that weight for anything.

You must be kidding

Stupid, why haven't I listened to hundreds of POS reviews? First raise the jack. After 5 minutes this POS base bent and my car fell over. The material of the bolt is somewhere between lead and toffee as any weight binds the threads of the bolt to the threads of the nut in the drive block making it difficult for my dog to lift. As soon as I passed the nearest dumpster, I threw it into the coffin, where it immediately began to disintegrate into simple elements that it had started somewhere…

Jack is down! Not sure!

This jack was purchased for my weekend driver and although I bought this item in 2015 it has had little use and has been properly stored. Recently I was using a jack to jack up my 2100 lb car (this jack is rated for 3000 lbs) and the jack suddenly flexed then quickly collapsed. Luckily no one was hurt (I always use jack stands when jacking up my car), but a potentially catastrophic situation. Seems other buyers are having similar issues. I'm ashamed that I didn't read the reviews before…

Good design except for one (or two) points.

This jack has a strong and rigid frame and a fairly wide base. This is very important when you are lifting a 3300 lb machine that you are going to slide underneath which is why I bought it. Unfortunately, it's almost unusable due to the terrible quality of the threaded rod that provides the mechanical advantage to raise the car. This rod must be perfectly straight with fine threads and a polished finish to reduce friction when screwing into the threaded socket opposite the crank side of the…

Very Difficult to Use - Scissor Jack

My car had a scissor jack that froze so I decided to replace it. I bought this. Right out of the box it was a problem. The jack didn't look greased at all, and when I opened it up a bit to set it about level with the jack seat, it was a real struggle. The jack was so tight I really wanted to fight it out by 2 or 3 inches. Then I went and lubricated all the moving parts - it helped a little but not much. The real problem came when I tried to jack up the car. I thought the handle they gave you…
