I ordered an APC PE610 but it has a straight plug

I checked the APC website and it says "Square plug - the angle of the plug allows you to to place appliances and furniture closer to the wall than with the standard power cord. It also reduces stress on the cord." However, the PE610 I just received has a straight plug. Not a problem for my situation but wanted to share.

Pros
  • surge protector
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Good for long distances

I needed a quality extension cord with over 6ft of cord for my adjustable height desk. This one feels great and does the job perfectly. I wish there was an option to get a 10ft cord with more than 6 outlets. I have two monitors, a lamp, a laptop, a desktop motor and an iPhone charger connected to it, all hanging in a basket under my desk.

Pros
  • Accessories and supplies
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Stopped working when I connected a heater to it

I have owned this unit for 15 months and have had no problems with it. Last week I used it with a brand new ceramic heater I bought from Costco. Has worked for a good month. Then it stopped. This extension cord has no circuit breaker function. It must have been drawing too many amps, and instead of a shutdown warning that resets after a while, it just put out a ghost. Stopped working forever. There is still a green light on the front of the power strip, but when I plug something in, that green…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Why think about a stupid extension cord?

The title asks why rating? Because this time it's not junk! The cable is thick but not tough, unforgiving vinyl that stays twisted when unwound. No UL or 5 star rating is provided. A flush switch is a must for cats in our home. Great price for a real strip.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Bad instructions
