Cheap Junk: Power & Hand Tools

I wouldn't buy this if I saw it in person. Maybe it works. After opening it and seeing that it was only 3 pieces of lightweight plastic, I just couldn't understand how it could sharpen my secateurs. I don't know if it's possible to return it because you have to destroy the packaging to get it to get a feel for how cheap it is.

Pros
  • Best Buy Recommended by the UK's Leading Consumer Testing Organization
Cons
  • There are other interesting options too.

Great Product - Whetstones

I saw this advert on TV at a home and garden show and checked out several spots online. Lowes and Home Depot charged over $60 for the item. This is a great purchase that will allow you to save on scissors or secateurs that come to the store and sharpened, or on new ones. I love the great price and the excellent seller price.

Pros
  • Sharpens all types of Loppers, Shears, Pruners, Shears and more
Cons
  • Available in White Only

Bosmere sharpener is good for mechanical and hand tools

The idea of this device (two component clamping tool) is good but the sharpening surface is thin and the tool itself is made of lightweight plastic. It just doesn't stand up to repeated use. Spend more and get the Felco 904. Yes, it's expensive, but it's made of metal and has a diamond-cut steel finish. It sharpens quickly and is easy to learn. It should last the average homeowner for a lifetime.

Pros
  • Silicon carbide abrasive lasts for years
Cons
  • Expensive
