the darker color of the edge is literally painted over when i received the purse i thought it was dry so i started using mink oil after noticing a few times it hadn't soaked in then i noticed a scratch on the edges the dark brown color so i gave it a scratch and to my surprise it was spray paint. So I sanded down the paint and wallet with sandpaper and then soaked them in ink oil. These wallets are excellent quality and my kids love them. We bought two and will definitely buy again! They like the zippered sections on both ends for loose change storage, and it doesn't make them bulky either.
