Description of Celestron Universal Smartphone Digiscoping Bluetooth

Patented design connects your smartphone to your telescope, spotting scope, binocular, monocular, and microscope so you can capture images and video through the eyepiece. Works with a wide range of mobile phones, including all the latest devices from Samsung, Google, and Apple. Unlike other adapters, NexYZ features three directional knobs (X, Y, and Z axis) that perfectly align your phone’s camera with the eyepiece in seconds so you are ready to snap the perfect image; you can also make tension adjustments to hold your phone firmly in place. Durable metal frame and polymer body stand up to rigorous field use. Fits any eyepiece from 35mm to 60mm in diameter including telescopes with 1.25” and 2” eyepieces.

Great concept.

The unit seems good and if I can line everything up for a photo the bluetooth remote is great. However, the gears don't move smoothly and smoothly and it's very heavy, at least for me. to align the phone's camera with the eyepiece to take a picture.

  • Accessories
Cons

WAY too "loose ". Not designed for quad cameras

I like the 3-axis design, but the control knobs are too tight, meaning it's not a very smooth movement when you turn them. . Also, any of the larger phones like the Samsung S21 Ultra will kind of sag the device which then makes it all but impossible to focus or even get a picture on your phone. This is mostly good for photographing the moon, but forget about looking at other planets. For over $200 just buy a dedicated astrophotography camera.

Pros
  • Telescope and microscope accessories
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
