Description of 🌈 Corsair iCUE Commander PRO Smart RGB Lighting and Fan Speed Controller: Enhance Performance with Advanced RGB Lighting and Fan Speed Control

The CORSAIR iCUE Commander PRO turns your case into a smart case, using CORSAIR iCUE software to control up to 6 case fans and 2 RGB lighting channels. Powers up to 6 DC or PWM fans with voltage and PWM control, including the ability to run at zero RPM for total silence. 2 RGB lighting channels provide powerful software control of CORSAIR individually addressable RGB LED strips and CORSAIR RGB fans. 4 repositionable temperature sensors allow you to accurately monitor temperatures throughout your system with CORSAIR iCUE software. 2 USB 2.0 internal headers allow you to easily connect internal USB devices, such as a CORSAIR AXi Series PSU or motherboard front panel. Set up custom fan curves and lighting profiles to automatically adjust fan speeds and RGB lighting based on system temperatures. Powerful CORSAIR iCUE software brings everything together, allowing you to customize RGB lighting, monitor CPU and coolant temperatures and adjust fan speeds, all from a single intuitive interface. Commander PRO’s low-profile design and included adhesive backing makes it easy to install behind your motherboard, or on any flat surface inside your case.

Typical Corsair in every way

What can I say - when it works it works well, and when it doesn't, as Corsair products often don't work in my experience, you're left with a huge headache . The physical structure is quite simple. I upgraded from an old Commander Mini. Please note that there are no cheap microdigital connectors like on older devices, which is both a good and a bad thing. That's good because those connectors kept breaking and didn't work well, but bad because it means some of the older products aren't compatible

Pros
  • New lighting
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Useful but tricky

Newer PC builds tend to have more internal components that require a USB port from the motherboard and this can quickly get out of control. I just combined a Corsair H80i AIO water circuit for my CPU and an EKWB system for my GPUs. Everyone needs a USB port, in my case the controller needs a USB port, and then - oh yeah - I have to use those USB ports for real USB. The Corsair iCue Commander Pro Controller helped me a lot. It was also a huge pain to figure out, but once I got everything…

Pros
  • LED strip
Cons
  • No power

It's worth Link's effort if you enjoy micromanaging your fans.

Commander Pro I have about 24 hours. It had its ups and downs, but mostly its ups and downs. Let's start with the good news: Commander Pro has made connecting cables a lot easier for me. I've long been a fan of very clean cable management. Before using Commander I had two separate Silverstone fan hubs (one for intake fans and one for exhaust fans) so each had a PWM cable to the motherboard and a SATA power cable. So, in addition to the 6 cables for my 6 case fans, we had 4 additional cables…

Pros
  • Lighting and ceiling fans
Cons
  • Compatibility
