I recently tried using my 40 inch TV as a monitor and it was horrible. While the image was larger and had some advantages, it lacked resolution, pixel density and also the number of colors. Also, it was actually too big, like having a front row seat to a movie. If you're eyeing your big screen TV and wondering how well it will perform as a monitor, don't try it. The monitor is very good. Runs cool and uses less than 25W most of the time. Nice clear picture with deep blacks. Not a lot of frills and it's fantastic for the price. Others found a few dead pixels popping up early, so I watched them carefully. I got this dead pixel (see photo) in about 2 weeks. I'm a little disappointed, but that wasn't a surprise, so I'll be trading for the same model. If the next one fails I will update this review accordingly.

Unfortunately this monitor suffers from flickering when using variable refresh rates (VRR/FreeSync/G-Sync compatible) which I now know is common to almost all VA displays so I had to return it. I use this to provide a broader view of online PC gaming and I'm happy with the video quality. It's way better than our big Samsung TV. I use a high quality data cable. I use it every day while working from home during the pandemic. Whenever I'm somewhere else, I miss this monitor. It dims intermittently and then the picture comes back, but it could be a Mac or a cable. have yet to find out.

I love this monitor. I use it as a second monitor. I find my old monitor looks like a CRT monitor compared to this one from Dell. By the way, I'm old enough to own a Dell CRT monitor. That was great then too.

I bought it for gaming, it's 27 inches tall and has a 165Hz refresh rate. However, I can't set it to 165Hz. It is locked at 65 Hz. My computer recognizes the Dell monitor but won't let me change the refresh rate. I have updated my Dell monitor firmware, updated Windows, updated my graphics card software/firmware. I got exactly what I wanted when I bought it. Attention buyers - it has no speakers, but I knew all the technical specifications of this monitor. Easy to fix with headphones or a soundbar. Otherwise, the picture quality and brightness is excellent for the price. I am currently using it as a secondary display for my laptop for work purposes. It has a display port and HDMI. Would recommend, but only if it's back on sale.

There wasn't a protective film on the screen or other parts of the monitor to peel off, which isn't a big deal, but it's annoying that it already has unboxing marks that shouldn't be there.

It is great. The refresh rate is immediately noticeable, the resolution is incredible - imo outperforms 4k monitors by 90%.

I have three of these monitors so I can confirm that their quality control is pretty good. Good: - No dead or stuck pixels. - Down-facing connector panel for easy wall mounting - Fairly good picture quality - High refresh rate and responsiveness - Detachable stand for easy wall mounting. Not the best: - A slight variation in backlight brightness, but not noticeable in most cases. Pretty good mid-size gaming monitor for the money.

It's not a terrible display, but the colors do feel a little washed out, and there's that slight blurring in the text that makes it unbearable. If you're buying it for gaming or watching movies and not a MacBook, you should be fine. But if you're looking for a monitor that's primarily for encoding, reading, or writing, this isn't the one.
