Diamond Abrasive Worn

The abrasive on this item was worn out after sharpening a dozen not-so-dull chisels. The sharpener now feels softer than my 6000 grit stone. Very disappointed. They are advertised as durable and marketed as premium products. The return window for this product closed after just a month which again is disappointing if this product is going to have a long lifespan. Try another brand before you buy DMT.

Works well but mine had a few minor imperfections

Stone worked great with several knives I've sharpened with it. I have some of their 6 inch stones for intermittent service and they are a bit difficult to use. The 8" is better, and this 10" makes it a little easier. Unfortunately, my stone has a few small blemishes (2 spots without diamond coating). and a small scratch). Very Very Excellent Stone Bench

The stone is actually a block of billet aluminum with a diamond coating on one surface. The? Are you saying Al is a light metal? Of course. Ever grabbed a 4" x 10" x 3/8" piece? Not so easy! If you have a flat surface (e.g. a piece of cut and polished marble (1/2" thick)) you really don't need a holder. Just use a non-slip material between the DMT and the surface. Even a wet paper towel will do. The DMT comes with 4 non-slip rubber feet, but I make sure to only use 4. AL deforms easily under…
