Enhance Sharpening Precision with DMT W8ECNB 8 Inch DuoSharp Extra Fine Review

Whetstone works well but surface is uneven. There are large ridges and indentations at the corners that can ruin the edge of any knife blade that rolls over it. Since the packaging was in good condition, the damage must have occurred at the factory. It's a shame to grind the corners of a brand new stone.

I bought this stone to sharpen woodworking tools, planes, chisels, knives and blades. The blue rough side cuts well and lines up the back of a new bit fairly quickly. The green extra thin side gave me a good bevel in a short amount of time. The problem is that the rough side isn't flat, which was very evident when I turned the stone for even wear. I'm finally tired of having dull chisels in my workshop. Many have developed nicks and dents over time, but I didn't want to use a standard bench grinder for these and it's getting too expensive to sharpen commercially.
