Ideal for vintage sewing machines.

This amazing little device works on old sewing machines without the use of tape which can dry out and eventually damage the finish of your treasured old machine. The magnet is strong and the length of the lead is good!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Faulty

Great for beginners!

I'm new to sewing and this is great for beginners to help align the fabric. It provides great visual reference and doesn't move on me as it's magnetic. If you are a beginner or your eyesight isn't what it used to be, try this product!

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Sad gear

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because I still have a little trouble keeping the fabric straight when embroidering curves. It's PERFECT for sewing straight seams and my issue with curves might just be user error :)

Pros
  • For sewing straight seams in machine quilting and sewing
Cons
  • Expensive

Disappointed - the magnet isn't strong enough to hold it in place.

I wasn't very impressed with this item. I enjoy sewing quilts on vintage machines and was hoping this would be a good replacement for machines that lack a seam guide. The magnet is not strong enough to stay in place and maintain an even seam allowance.

Pros
  • Exclusive flip tab that opens easily with one touch
Cons
  • Can't remember

I bought a regular magnetic seam guide and just recently bought this for a friend of mine who does quilting. I didn't understand what the difference between the two is, but I like it. I'm a beginner at sewing so I can keep my seams straight.

Pros
  • Adjusts to any position on the metal sewing machine needle plate
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price
