ONE YEAR REVIEW - I bought this cover to protect our new sofa's chaise longue from our three cats who don't scratch but tend to theirs sticking claws into it. when they jump on things; a cat with a condition that is accompanied by frequent vomiting; and a large dog that has salivation problems. The product seems worthy considering all the negative reviews. I haven't washed it yet or spilled anything on it; My 90-pound chocolate lab uses futons more than anyone else. What I can say is that I had to adjust the straps once and place them where they made the most sense, I originally had both straps on the back of the futon, I have since moved one to the crease.
