🔒 Fastway Fortress 86-00-5015 Universal Maximum Security Coupler Lock for 1 7/8", 2" & 2 5/16" Couplers Review

Very reliable locking system. That's the gold standard for me. I've seen others not as good as this one for a reasonable price. The finish is heavily chromed and the screw attaches on either side. Very strong. Easy on and off with one key. Without a key, it may be difficult for others.

Cost wise this is the best built in lock I've bought, I have a closed trailer shop and can't afford to buy these 2nd one and 3 hundred locks to buy. So I buy the heaviest and strongest removal locks I can find for a reasonable price. These are some of the best I've seen or bought.

I have 5 followers, one for each! They close well and tightly and are difficult to crack! I lost my key 2 years ago and it took a locksmith over 45 minutes to drill and drill and drill to finally get it off my trailer! The trick is to put the lock in the back, it wasn't easy for the locksmith to even get to the lock and then it was very difficult to drill! Great locks for me!

Fits securely on my Featherlite hitch with 2 5/16" ball size. Trailer and drive away with it and I hope it does the job. When I first attached it to the hitch , I wasn't sure if it couldn't be removed, but after trying my best to remove it, I figured it would be secure enough to deter thieves.If I run into problems with it over time, I will I will update this review accordingly.

DO NOT BUY THIS LOCK FOR SEVERAL REASONS!1. It binds when the U-bolt is not inserted into the lock body evenly. Then it needs to be installed freely after plugging in for the key to release and lock. Therefore, it does not fit tightly to the ball body of the trailer.2. I had a lock toggle switch lock error so I couldn't unlock it after installing it. The product seemed great and worked well when I first put it on my trailer. However, when I removed and re-locked it (from the fob), the inner tumbler (the inner circle of the lock) rotated clockwise about 45 degrees while the key was out. If you look at the picture you will see that the slots in the lock are offset. Once this happens, it is not possible to return the key to unlock it again. Right now it's actually a paperweight. Bought one for my 2 5/16" implement trailer and one for my 2" snowmobile trailer. This is a pretty solid lock - both the stock and body are very solid. It comes with 4 keys. Both locks open and close well and fit securely in the ball sockets. They seem to resist corrosion well. I like the fact that both ends of the stock lock are closed as some of the cheaper locks only close on one end. I also love that they arrived via UPS within two days. Fastway Fortress hitch lock fits perfectly, has all the features I wanted in a hitch lock, looks stunning and looks great on my trailer. It's important to note that I have an Eual-i-zer weight distribution hitch and was looking for a kit where the receiver lock would lock the same as the hitch lock and hitch latch lock.
