Versatile Clamp Desk Lamp: 360° Flexible Clip-on Light for Portable Book Reading and Home/Bedroom Lighting Review

This lamp arrived in a bag with the screw removed. It was one of the screws that secures the socket. The other base mounting screw was loose. I was able to fix it myself, but I'd rather buy products that don't require me to fix it.

When I received this item there was a screw in the lamp that came out. This made the electrical part that holds the lightbulb flexible. The husband was able to disassemble and replace the screw. Now the light works fine but I am deducting a star for this issue.

I probably should have returned this item. I'm afraid to use it as it might have a short in the wiring. It makes a whooshing, sizzling sound, so I'm concerned it might start a fire if I keep using it. Tried several times to turn it on, the result is always the same. very dangerous.

I use this lamp to illuminate a small laptop. The lamp attaches to the bookshelf without taking up floor space and the fully flexible neck allows the light to be directed exactly where I need it. The on/off switch is a simple toggle switch conveniently located in the middle of the cord.

Even the smallest LED bulb I could find was sticking out of the lampshade. You can see my photo of the lamp and see for yourself how small the lamp is. The biggest flaw is that the base that the bulb screws into is not attached to any part of the lamp. The only thing holding it up is the wiring. If you are using a standard sized lightbulb, part of the lightbulb will extend beyond the screen. The only way to protect your eyes from glare is to turn them away from you.
