Set a Record

Okay, I'm going to set a record on this set. I have photographed both kits and you can clearly see from the photos that this kit is absolutely and undeniably better than the Metra and all these people here are crying and whining about this kit not working one way or another, they are Idiots and don't know anything about installation so they should leave it to people who do understand. I had no trouble installing this kit but the Metra kit was a problem, it's useless and it still has a gap where

A great fit using quality materials

2007 Ford Taurus S Perfect for my dash. Installation is rated easy for those with the right tools and some prior experience, and moderate for a complete beginner. If you've never done this before or have no idea what a 10kΞ© resistor is, ask a friend to help you. Pros
  • ISO/DIN trim ring included
Cons
  • Easily repairable

This AI kit works as intended but has a few imperfections. The LED wiring didn't account for the A/C control switches as they left dried hot glue and wiring in the path of the A/C switches. So you'll need to remove some glue and then move the wiring aside to make room for your switches. - not really matter. The main downside, which can be seen in the photos, is that the clamp posts that hold the device in your dash fall off. One fell off the first time I removed it while installing the device…

Switches behind standard stereo

Overall this dash kit is very easy to install. I only needed the metal brackets from the standard stereo, not the black plastic brackets that came with the dash. I've always wondered what those things are for and why I can't build a stereo system with them! Maybe it's because my new stereo had a metal grommet and it wasn't necessary. Also, the plastic on the AC and thermostatic switches on the back of your factory stereo may be brittle. Be very careful not to break the parts when removing these

Set the record straight

Okay I'll set the record I have a 99 Ford Taurus SE and also a Taurus SE 05 and in the Taurus 99 I used the Metra Dash Kit and in the 05 I have used this kit. I have photographed both kits and you can clearly see in the photos that this kit is absolutely and undeniably better than Metra and all these people here are crying and whining about this kit not working one way or another, they are idiots and don't know anything about the installation, so they should leave it to people who understand. Pros
  • Includes ISO mounting brackets
Cons
  • Doubt it

This AI kit works as intended but has some imperfections. The first small issue is the assembly - whoever did the LED wiring left out the AC control switches because they left dried hot glue and wiring in the path of the AC switches - so you'll have to remove some of the glue and then move apart from wiring to make room for your switches, it doesn't matter. The main downside in the photos is that the push rods that hold the unit in your dash fall off. One fell off the first time I removed it…
