I bought these to replace the case that came with my Oral B 1000 which broke in half when dropped. While they're still plastic, they definitely feel stronger than the stock case. The brush heads are held very securely by clips. Unfortunately, as others have pointed out, there's no clip to attach the brush handle itself, so it rattles and easily disengages from the notch. However, this is easily fixed with clear bumper covers. I placed three in strategic places in the case and now the brush fits
