Fulton 2060366 Transom Retractable Ratchet Review

This brand of transom strap came with my boat from the factory. After 7 years I got tires with lubricating components and decided to replace them. I bought this maybe over a month ago and just started installing it, but found the size 18 polypropylene nut was missing! So I was only able to install one! Full setback and utter annoyance having to run to the hardware store to get a replacement!

Well made. Ease of installation. I tapped the bolts and nuts with a tap (metric) to make sure there were no burrs before installing. Be sure to use anti-seize lubricant and install the nuts slowly to prevent seizing. If they start bonding, stop! I also sprayed a fair amount of Boshield T9 on the spring cases to prevent corrosion and ensure they last longer.

Had to return the first set as the package was missing mounting nuts and bolts, the dealer said they didn't have spares? The second set came with just a nut and bolt to install. Instead of returning the second set I bought a nut and bolt. I've only used the product once and it seems to be working as advertised, but the retailer definitely has some quality control issues. For this reason I would not recommend it.

These fasteners allowed me to attach the stern of the boat to the trailer quickly and easily. They lock the boat securely. They are always present on the trailer and removed from the road. I sold my original trailer mounts because they were never where I needed them and are easy to leave or lose. These ratchet mounts are spring loaded. and they help me launch and get the boat back on course quickly and efficiently. I would buy them again.
