Maybe I just prefer the old version. And that's because this version is creepy and rude. My older Furby had some mannerisms issues, but this Furby took it even further. He'll even vomit if you overfeed him. Then, as he goes insane, his eyes flash as he mutters a strange curse that will curse you. So you think it's going to take forever for this guy to finally shut up and go back to sleep.

I had high hopes for Furby updates. Sure, it's cute and has some great new features. My niece (and parents) love it. I just find the voice a bit more annoying, you could say, and seems harder to put to sleep than the originals. Also, he sometimes becomes "aggressive" for no reason, and it takes a while for him to get back to normal. I would wait for the price to drop (currently $55) before buying for kids.

I understand the item has been in use and most likely has only been tested for pickup. It turns on but shorts out and the only way to reset it is to unscrew the battery compartment cover, pull the battery out, put it back in and screw the cover back on. It's not something a 6-year-old can handle alone, and since Furby only stays active for 10-15 seconds before crashing and acting like it's dead, it's not even worth messing around with.
