GearWrench 81002 Piece 4 Inch Extension Review

How weird is it not chasing over your damn heads all the time? They remain on overtime as expected. What a pleasant experience!

The product image does not match the product received. After looking at the manufacturer's website, a kit like the one pictured isn't even made by Gearwrench. At least not anymore.

Very good set for the price. It offers almost all the length I need. Very well done. All handles have knurled grips which is almost a must when you have oil on your hands/gloves to provide grip.

No picture. I bought these extensions thinking I would get what is pictured. Instead, I got an extension with a large lock collar. No small button like in the pictures. Otherwise this would be a 5 star rating

I am a professional mechanic and would recommend them. I haven't had any problems with them. They easily outperform the Craftsman, equal to the Cornwell and Mac, and the Snap On wins only marginally for having a sharper (handier) knurl. Compare the price here to what they want on the truck. Buy them, your wallet will thank you.

This is the best! The angle on the bushing helps prevent cross threading. And since they are fixed, the outlet won't get stuck inside. I had a rusty spark plug and it came out with no problem. If I had used a standard spark plug tool it would have stuck. I will only use this tool to replace spark plugs. And different sizes help with different areas in the engine compartment.

What can I say, this is Gearwrench and it works! I haven't had any problems with any of their tools yet. Not the cheapest but worth the premium price for a well made lifetime tool. My only criticism is that it is not made in the USA. boo! An added bonus is the "hook" on the extension rods to make it easier for your fingers to grip when twisting the extension by hand when threading. Very nice functional item!

If I use a quarter inch, those are my tools. I like this suitcase because you can take it out completely and put it in a drawer and everything is organized. Very high quality very durable. stays clean with a single wipe. It's nice to have in a drawer when it's always organized and you know when it's missing. All the different sizes really help once you're in the pickle.

I have used them at work a few weeks after receiving them and have had no problems so far. Great length combinations. It's hard to beat the price for what it offers. The 2" adapter is very handy and mostly hard to find on its own. It would be better if the knurled parts were closer to the end of the ratchet so the finger can reach them without changing position. The ends hold the head well .No falling aviation and this is a great must have set.

ok that's it. If you have cargo outlets in the port, they don't hold them very well. you can pull them out easily. If you have legitimate sockets, they block them perfectly and cannot be removed. On my 1/4" latch kit they are perfect. I'd upload a picture if I wasn't so lazy, but I have a different set of extensions than the ones in the photo, it actually has a grommet to unlock the socket, and it's amazing have used it many times today and it's been great.
