This is a very sturdy bed. There seems to be a lot of support. Not too big and not too small. My 70lb pit mix goes with it pretty well, but if it wants to stretch a lot it may need to hang over the edge.

My 10 year old labrador suffered from hip problems, had difficulty walking and when she woke up she was stiff and in pain. I bought this orthopedic bed (to replace an old dog bed) to ease the pain of a night's rest and what a difference! I gave her a pillow and now when she wants to sleep she goes upstairs to lay on her bed instead of laying on the floor in the common room. So she even knows the difference! I was very happy to get these beds for my dogs as they seemed to be everything I was looking for. Supports my greyhounds' delicate joints, comfortable, beautiful without the 'fake' sheepskin to attract attention and hold the various sticks and junk they are lugging.
