It works, but... for cars and car electronics

2004 Honda Pilot exl. FYI this item is easy to install, works as it should, but the only downside is that it generates a lot of static and engine noise. In any case, there are glitches that cause a howl or sometimes a hum when the engine is running. Sounds amazing when the engine is off. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Vulgarity

2004 Honda Pilot now has Aux!

I used this extra cable to connect to my 2004 Honda Pilot stereo/radio deck and it works great! I don't have the ground loop noise others have mentioned and it plugs directly into my stereo's CD changer port and I don't have to remove or change anything. In my opinion this is much better than replacing the stereo with another one, it's perfect for the Honda Pilot.

Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's just great

Pretty easy to install

Pretty easy to install. Terrible noise/feedback related to the car's electronics/alternator (03 Honda Civic). The noise/feedback corresponds to the engine/generator speed and disappears when the engine is switched off. I've found that the same device from HOTSYSTEM works much better with much less noise - at first glance the two devices look the same, but the circuitry is completely different (see attached X-ray).

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Noise and squeaks

Terrible. Today I installed it in my 2004 Civic to replace my old AudioBaxics adapter which was starting to have connection problems. The noise level from this adapter is enough to make your ears bleed. Every time I step on the gas pedal, there is an unmistakable feedback squeak. It is simply plugged into the back of the radio. So if I didn't do anything wrong with the installation, I'll look around for another brand.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • There are errors

Works perfectly. on Car Electronics Accessories

Bought for use in my 2005 civilian car. Works perfectly. Ease of installation. If you are stubborn and don't mind a cramp in your hand, install without removing the radio. You can hear the ground circuit rumble at the Vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatai's volume level, but that only seems to be an issue on certain phone calls. I've never had to play music loud enough to hear it, and I'm afraid I'll blast the stock speakers if I try. We use this with Echo Auto to add Bluetooth music input andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

UPDATE. Open it when buying. There are 2 screws on the case. You need to peel off the white label. I jumped over two wires: a thick black ground wire and a blue wire. No pics: I started by grounding the blue wire first after plugging it into the back of the unit. I screwed a similar cable into the housing of the radio itself. This reduced the noise by 50%. Adding a cable in the AUX box further reduced the noise by 45%. I haven't done a lot of testing and troubleshooting as everything I've doneโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results

Works exceptionally well but buy a ground loop isolator

I was concerned by the many bad reviews but bought this to try myself. Everything worked perfectly on my 2000 Honda Accord. It has a disc changer port on the back of the stereo main unit. Please make sure you have it before purchasing. Basically, this box fools the system into thinking it has a disc changer plugged in (Honda had the option of buying a 6-disc changer, but very few cars actually have them). The installation is very simple. Remove the panel around the stereo, unscrew the stereoโ€ฆ
