I took a risk but with free returns I decided to give it a try. I wanted to hate it and return it, it's expensive. I love it! Text is crisp, color is great, yes the brightness is a bit lower than I was hoping for from what I read in another review but I'm used to it. Be sure to disable "SMART POWER SAVE" as it will automatically dim the screen when enabled. Great monitor, replaced my 32" LG with this one (32" moved elsewhere). Almost, but not bought through Revain. As a programmer, you need height (15 inches for that), but not too much. You need a curved monitor because changes in depth of field are distracting. You need a width (36 inches for that) but not too much. (Double 32" is too wide and changes the depth of field.) This is the best I've found.

This monitor is currently connected to a Mac Studio via Thunderbolt and a PC via DisplayPort and works well for both. It's not a gaming monitor at just 72Hz and only 300 nits, it doesn't work well with HDR if at all, but for performance and general use I think it's great. So far no problems or complaints.

This is exactly what I was hoping for from the display, I use Windows for my daily work, for everything else I use my Mac (Studio) and in both cases the screen quality is fantastic. I ordered an Apple Studio Display but spotted this LG on Youtube, I decided to cancel my Apple order and take a chance with this monitor, I'm so glad I did. There's less clutter on my desk, I'm more productive in my day-to-day work, and I now have more space for apps as I use my Mac for a variety of purposes.

I like the display itself, but I can't use the built-in speakers as there's no way to control the volume through the Mac. You can control the volume with the joystick on the bottom of the monitor, but that's very inconvenient. So I still use external speakers. Which is a shame because the sound quality from the built-in speakers seems to be pretty good.

I had a previous LG 5k/2k monitor that I liked but I need full resolution and I often find myself squinting to see the full resolution of the monitor, this solves the problem. I can't recommend it more highly! If you have room for a 40 inch monitor, that's a game changer, and in my case for stock and options trading, it's a game changer.
