great for professionals

I like these. The hose clamp alternative is tough on hands, building materials and holding on to anything and everything. You're unlikely to find them at your local store; and not at Lowes, the official major MEtabo/Hitachi dealer. The Hitachi hose sucks a bit due to its overly soft nature. I prefer Amflo (and I have a lot of Hitachi). They work with Metabo/Hitachi and Amflo hoses.

Pros
  • Power tool parts and accessories
Cons
  • Some bugs

Note the OD of the hose suitable for power tools and hand tools

The OD of my air compressor hose is just over 1/2" even though it is a 1/4" air hose. These 1/4" connectors do not have an inside diameter specification. The actual inside diameter of the connector is 7/16". The connector on this product works great, but I had to resort to zip ties to hold the connection in place. The 1/2" hose did not fit these couplers. This is a typical 125psi air compressor.

Pros
  • Air Nailer Accessories
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Good/good solution

I looked at all possible splicing options as I need to fix some air hoses and this is a good solution. The only downside is the weight/volume of the fitting as it still tries to snag on obstacles but is way better than anything with hose clamps. If I had a 3/8 Pex crimping tool I would go with barbed fittings and compression rings but for the sake of simplicity east of installation cost and reusability this is a great quick fix.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Not bad
