No more need to turn off the car radio manually

I installed a Pioneer stereo in my MKIV VW Jetta and realized that VW needed a special wiring harness to switch off the stereo with the ignition. I bought this because I don't want to have to manually turn off the stereo every time I get out of the car. Installation was a bit tricky at first, but once you see how the cables are routed, it's pretty easy. After installation, I expected the stereo to turn off when the ignition is turned off, like the stock stereo, but it stays on until you lockโ€ฆ

Good kit to avoid cutting the factory wiring

Good kit to avoid cutting the factory wiring. All factory functions, such as B. delayed shutdown, are preserved with proper installation. I recommend proper installation with solder joints and shrink tubing to avoid problems from vibration etc in the future. You already have a disconnect from the factory wiring harness in the car because of this kit, so you don't have to unhook the radio yourself unless you're changing head units. Cut and solder at this point. Lots of things that fitโ€ฆ

Resolved issue with aftermarket head unit and 2012 Jetta.

It turns out that the Volkswagen generation MK6 does not have a switched 12V connector on the wiring harness. This means that using a standard wiring harness without a CAN bus adapter will likely drain the battery for most aftermarket head units. I learned this the hard way after what seemed like a successful install, but it later resulted in a dead battery after leaving the car idling for a week. This product solved my battery drain issues and still allows the device to stay on after the carโ€ฆ

Good value for money

Installed on a 2009 VW Passat 2.0T Sedan. The instructions were very short and to the point. Things to note there are 2 12 pin connectors plus a large connector that plugs into the vehicle's wiring harness. Make sure you connect the correct 12-pin connector to the box provided. The other connector is for the Steering Wheel Control (SWC) if you buy a separate SWC harness adapter. I think the instructions should detail which wire harness goes where and what the other connectors are for e.g. Bโ€ฆ

Works well, pay attention to the setting.

Used when replacing the head unit in a 2006 VW Jetta. Proprietary German wiring requires adapters for compatibility with non-genuine parts. The cable colors match the new head unit perfectly. Pay particular attention to the adapter initialization instructions. I had some problems after installation as I didn't follow them properly. This resulted in the radio having no power the next morning. Disconnected battery for 30 seconds and everything worked again but it continued to be intermittent andโ€ฆ

2012 VW Beetle - everything works except reverse - poor instructions

I used this to fit a Pioneer NEX head unit into my wife's manual transmission base 2012 VW Beetle. All the extras work great (12 volt switch, handbrake, RAP) EXCEPT the reverse signal wire which may be due to a lack of signal from the car's canbus rather than a wiring harness issue. Which brings me to the biggest issue with this item and the reason for the three stars. It comes with VIRTUALLY NO INSTRUCTIONS. For example it shouldn't just say it works with 2012-17 VW Beetles, it should indicate
