Mia Secret Clear Acrylic Powder Review

I bought Mia's Secret Monomer and have another brand of acrylic powder left over. I couldn't set the acrylic properly, it had an odd texture and was very difficult to work with. My number one is an acrylic translucency powder! Overall the Mia Secrets system is amazing and I have used it for many years with no buoyancy, easy breakage, yellowing, looseness etc. I always buy an 8oz container from this seller in particular and have done so for a long time. The only thing I complain about is the price increase. It used to be $20 for 8 ounces, but now it's $30 and up. I would say I'm an intermediate beginner and I think the ratio is very beginner friendly and it takes some time to determine what can be good or bad depending after who you are or what you do. 8 oz is a lot, and yes, the product is COMPLETELY clear. Some people say it's cloudy or bubbling, but it's possible they got a bad batch, aren't using the right monomer, or just don't know how to use it properly. This powder was terrible. I am extremely disappointed. Couldn't hold on. It breaks very easily. It cost me my beautiful nails which I used to maintain YEARS before quarantine. I just want my money back NOW! This is very traumatic for me at the moment as I have been growing my nails to the desired length for several years. I can't believe this experience! I had to repeat applications every day. Acrylic came off or cracked right on my nail. I don't use hints. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Perfect size. It arrived earlier than expected, which made me very happy! I have used this with some fluorescent powders to make rings for my daughter, niece and another child in our area to see how durable it is. The repeated falls and roughness of these tomboys didn't damage the rings at all. And I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the powder applied. I had to grind very little. Simply demould, trim off the rough edges and apply a clear coat.

After using more popular brands, another tech convinced me to try Mia Secret and I fell in love. I've ordered Mia for the last year and 1/2 and never had a problem prior to this batch. How embarrassing when all the customers whose nails you did with that batch come back a week later with NO NAILS! (My clients worked a full 7 weeks without a lift or a break) I even tested it for myself, I ordered 4 oz from the company I usually order from and put them on one side and this batch on the other…

I reordered this because I like it and it works well for beginners but this time the bottom cracked and a part was almost half spilled. I had to seal the bottom so it wouldn't come out again. I haven't even opened the lid yet. See photos. It had to be dropped before packing as there is plastic in the box to protect it from damage and it is damaged nonetheless. If I had the money to send it back I would take the hassle of taking public transport to the post office.

This acrylic is very easy to work with for all experience levels. so complain about it being runny, it's easy to fix. A few drops of acetone will fix this if that's the problem. Also, I must have received an odd batch because my powder had a lot of tiny bluish black flecks which was a headache because it was very noticeable when clear. I contacted the seller, sent a photo, sent a replacement. I really appreciate this good customer service and will spend my money there again!
