Moen 16090 Chateau Collection Chrome Escutcheon Replacement for One-Handle Tub and Shower Faucets Review

Needed a replacement for my shower. It was exactly what I had. I couldn't find the moen on the original due to the age and tear so I adjusted it by comparing the two screw holes on the bottom, the notch at the top of the stand hole and that it was fairly shallow and not ta deep pocket have in the inner circle, which would have to enter the space of the wall. Very satisfied.

I am so glad I finally found a replacement for the 1980's Moen Chateau Positemp pull out shower! The old one was covered in hard water stains and never sparkled no matter what I tried to clean. Great price and greatly improves the look of my shower. I also bought a shower water softener to hopefully get rid of the stains permanently. They weren't for my specific type.

Perfect for our old Moen. You may need some stands to find the screw holes on the adapter in the wall, at least if you've previously had a deeply concave rosette like ours. The item we received has snowflake and light gray pointed sun. Once a few water stains hit the slab, you won't see them at all. It's fine, but you may need to tell guests which way to turn the knob so they don't freeze and burn themselves if they don't experiment. I think a red dot and a blue dot would be more practical, but

This is a photo of my old Moen plate that I replaced. It was installed around 1980. I just wanted a nicer plate and that was it. The new panel I bought has a rubber gasket on the outside and fits very snugly against the shower screen. It also has a rubber gasket around the tube opening which also makes it very tight. I actually bought this used through Revain Warehouse Deals for less than $15 (approx 15% savings) in very good (like new) condition. It was repackaged without screws (which weren't needed anyway). It looks new and is better quality than other aftermarket parts. I used it to remodel a shower in a 1983 Moen installation when I needed to chip off all the old tiles and put new ones in place. Wall. Excellent product. It is made entirely of metal, not plastic, and is approximately 1 inch larger than the original 1972 Moen Chateau pickguard it replaced. Most importantly, this piece has very heavy padding on the back to prevent water from dripping behind the plate and it also has a drainage hole on the bottom.
