Disappointed with the saddlebags

However appears to be of good quality, shows tools and does not state that they were not included. not so clear. a bit disappointed

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Too dull

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not waterproof, mostly plastic.

Appearance OK, installation on 2016 r1200gsa was suboptimal, although it worked. The bracket failed after 600 miles on hard mud. The biggest problem is that it's just a black plastic shell glued together. Therefore, it is in no way waterproof or water resistant.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Poor kit

You get what you pay for.

First of all, this is not a stainless steel tool box. This is a plastic box with stainless steel reinforcement for attachment to the housing frame. The second problem I have is how to attach it to the frame. At best, he's thin. I had to add two more attachment points to feel comfortable. third party I doubt it's waterproof. The rubber seal to the door is not an O-ring but a long strip of rubber cut to length. The door dangles and dangles in the box when closed and latched. Holes are pre-drilled

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Negative gift

THIS IS A PLASTIC BOX WITH STEEL REINFORCEMENT NO TOOLS INCLUDED AT ALL NOT WATERPROOF. The instructions are TERRIBLE. I was able to do this because I work with tools, but I find it difficult for an unprepared pair of hands. IT IS NOT WATERPROOF AT ALL. There is an O-ring on the door. Then there are at least 6 more holes in the box for water to enter. To get it working make sure you apply red bolt sealant (highest strength) as it will vibrate and goodbye. Take a dry bag and then YES you can say

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Disappear

Impossible / Failed to install in trunk with case installed.

The box itself looks exactly like a BMW/Touratech box costing around $100 or more. I have a 2016 BMW 1200 GS with Brooks AutoSports saddlebags and rack. There is no installation guide for this box and once you start looking at things try connecting this part to another. But what annoyed me the most was trying to mount it on the inside of the left case. At the moment there is no place to install it with the basket. I'm trying to figure out how to pin this drawer with the cart installed. I like…

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Some flaws

No quality control but it works

The instructions were not very clear and the assembly was a big problem. Several hex bolts have been deformed and with 9 nuts from 3 different designs it is confusing. The only obvious nut was the one holding the door. The metal case surrounding the plastic case also tends to peel off until everything is assembled. I'm not sure about the durability of this device. I just drove 1,000 miles in my BMW GSA and took my first aid kit with me. It held up and kept the kit from getting wet during a 10…

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Some small things

Failure of the loop clamp - dangerous.

The hinge (supplied in two mating pieces) that secures the front of the toolbox to the trunk broke after a 200 mile test drive with minimal use of tools. This is dangerous because the box can come in contact with the wheel while riding and you won't see a broken fork if you have a suitcase. Such a box would not withstand a long drive with off-road sections. The back door was also unscrewed - it easily unscrews from the vibration, so the rope is really necessary. The surveyor also had to set 2…

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • Low repairability
