Most Secure Router Under $200

First of all, understand that this is a business-class router, not a consumer-class router. Peplink regularly releases firmware updates. This router is very feature rich and does not support the less secure WPS and you can limit access to WPA2 only. Three antennas, not shown, are supplied with the router. I replaced my consumer router with Surf SOHO because it's not vulnerable to VPNFilter malware. The only gripe I have is that it contains minimal information about the initial setup. A more…

  • Easy-to-Read Control Panel
Cons
  • Good, But Not Great

Good concept, doesn't offer stability or bandwidth

I got this because it's considered easy to create (somewhat) complex setups using multiple Wi-Fi networks and VLANs to control different ones to isolate parts of the network AND IT IS. BUT about once a month (sometimes twice a week on average) it turned off all wifi networks except the main network and required a reboot. And how long does it take to reload! (a few minutes) I haven't fully confirmed this yet, but I believe this device is also having serious bandwidth issues. The CPU seems…

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • Don't like it, everything is fine

Good but not very fast for streaming.

I bought this router (Pepwave Surf Soho mk3) for use in my RV because I could use my Verizon Jetpack as a USB internet source on the back of the router. I needed a separate router (as a mifi) to connect my Synology NAS that stores video, audio and file recordings, and mifi didn't have an ethernet port. This worked well for small things, but even with the NAS connected to the router via Ethernet, there was enough extra latency that the downstream video streaming to the Wi-Fi device suffered from

EXCELLENT, CAPABLE EMERGENCY ROUTER!

I bought this to replace an ASUS RT-AC88U router that never worked properly and ended up losing internet connection several times a day. This router seemed too good to be true. It promised to connect to ISPs using a cellular hotspot, a USB, or an Ethernet cable. He also promised "failover" for the next connection if the connection to the parent ISP stopped working. It really seemed "too good to be true" for a $200 product. Well it works! Some components. I have a 20Mbps broadband connection, a…

Buy this and don't worry about anything else.

Unlike household appliances, the web interface is informative and responsive. It's easy to set up and works great. Also, I scanned the router and found no security issues. No security issues were fixed with my previous wireless router, and Netgear had no plans to update the firmware. Meanwhile, Peplink is still updating the firmware. Because it is a corporate level, it stays connected for a long time; I bought this wireless router for both a home and non-profit organization; No device lost…

Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Unreliable, expensive, incomplete documentation, difficult to set up

I really wanted this router to work. My impression from the reviews is that Peplink makes safe, high quality products and quickly fixes any security issues found. I was willing to pay a premium ($195) for security and reliability. I was very disappointed and gave up after a year and bought a TP-Link AC1200 for $50. In just a week, TP-Link has already proven to be more reliable. The problems I see with Peplink are: 1. It's complicated to set up and the documentation doesn't give good advice on…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some flaws

I HATE this router. This is highly recommended due to the extensive security features. And yes, you can lock it tightly. But in recent years it's been plagued by connection problems, and it's only gotten WORSE, not better. It's getting older now, it's been around for years. I was willing to sacrifice speed for good security, stability, and good customer support, but I got none of that with this router. I think Peplink just dropped support for it. In the end I gave up too. First of all, there is
