PetSafe Entry Aluminum Extension Tunnel Review

I ordered a Petsafe Door and a Petsafe Wall Extension, but the Wall Extension did not fit the door. Since I also had to try to attach it, I had to open and close the metal flanges, which eventually broke off. I ended up building a wooden "crate" or tunnel through the wall to attach the dog door.

This is my second dog door from this company and I've always needed an extension tunnel. It fit perfectly in my previous home. In my new house, this is also not suitable due to the styrofoam insulation. I could use 1/4 to 1/2 inch more. We've resorted to duct tape on the inside and the dogs are okay with it and it's durable.

I love the cat door and although my cats aren't hugh I would recommend going up a size because when you put it through the wall it looks like a cat walking through a tunnel . I think if I have a bigger one they wouldn't be so reluctant to use it because I think they feel closed off going through it

I bought this because the dog door wasn't wide enough and there was a gap between the pieces and I was concerned that (we have 4 small dogs) one of the dogs might get hurt walking through a dog door, with the possibility of a tail, ear or nail getting caught in the gap.
