Bright bulbs, poor packaging

March 2020 I upgraded to Phillips X-treme Vision from Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. They appear brighter than Silverstar Ultras. I can't say anything about longevity yet. The only negative is that when the box was opened the bulbs were taken out of the socket. Hopefully this will not affect the life of the bulbs. UPDATE February 2021 These lightbulbs just burned out. Generally they lasted longer than Silverstar lamps. So I would say if they fix the packaging issue they are worth it.

Long life, excellent light output

I ordered this in November 2016 and just had to replace it. My car is old and the headlights are probably powered, which helps with longevity. However, they were MUCH better than the Silverstar bulbs that came with my headlights. Yes, a lightbulb fell out and bounced when it arrived. However, it took both 18 months to burn out, two days apart. Perfectly visible at night - natural color temperature and good distance. Would like to buy a second set.

Far from life expectancy

Definitely brighter than normal bulbs, but at the expense of an extremely short lifespan. I'm assuming people who had it last have serious problems with the voltage drop, which lowers the output power but increases the light. But for those who get the stock wiring right and get the correct 13.8-14.4 volts per headlight bulb socket, they die fast. I had less than 34 hours of actual use before mine failed. And the kit I bought last winter broke about the same time.

Up to 130% compared to a burned out bulb. avoid it

I've been burned by the hype and the lies again. Yes, it's 130% brighter than a burned out bulb, but just as bright as a standard halogen bulb. 100% means AS bright, +30% brighter. No, I put it in a headlight to compare with the stock headlight on the other side. couldn't say anything Same color temperature. Yes, it's on the white side, but so is the standard bulb. As mentioned, yes the bulbs were loose and bouncing around in the plastic case! It's amazing they didn't go broke! IMO not worth…

Great product, bad packaging.

After reading many reviews I chose it for my wife's Mazda 6. I have to say that this is quite a bright and straight white light with no blue or color cast. Her car had Sylvania Silverstar Ultra and I find they are brighter and a few bucks cheaper. The only downside is that the bulbs were in factory packaging when received and the bulb ends were broken. Luckily this didn't affect the bulb, I just think Phillips needs a better way to secure the bulb in the box. In general, I am very satisfied…

Minimal increase in performance, no worries

First, they arrived quickly and came in two packs with a lamp with no rumble. Made in Germany, looks authentic. There are no complaints on these fronts. The complaint is that the difference from normal lamps is minimal. I use them in a 2007 Subaru Forester that has a factory relay setting so not much current is going through the stalk. The stock headlights are mostly plastic, so I chose not to use illegal, higher-wattage bulbs. I carefully restored faded headlight lenses a few months ago and at

Good bulb, bad packaging

I bought these to replace the standard bulbs that came with my new headlights. They are significantly lighter. I looked at these bulbs in comparison to Crystal Vision bulbs (designed to give a whiter, xenon-like light) and was concerned they would be too amber for my liking. They really aren't yellow at all, which pleasantly surprised me. You'll obviously notice a difference if you place it next to a whiter bulb, but that's about it. The extra work is worth it. I deducted 1 star because the…
