This device is awesome. I know the company that does this (POETexas) has much more expensive and sophisticated POE test equipment, but this little gem is all that most hobbyist POE device installers need. This saves me miles of back and forth troubleshooting Cat6.

I use this to easily determine if a specific connector is plugged into a switch port. I have a protocol tester, but most of the time I just want to know if the port is up. This is the perfect tester for it, compact and simple. Ideal.

This product is really easy to use but needs a little more detailed instructions. I had to do a little research online to better understand what the different indicators are telling me. I really just needed it to determine if I was using a switch or an intermediate span that gave me the comma mode or the mode I was entering the POE connection.

A simple and quick tester to make sure your fumes are properly punctured and your injector is working before you plug something expensive (like a camera, phone, wireless hotspot) into your wiring harness. Featured!

That tells me what I need to know. Nothing more, nothing less and that's why it's perfect. I'm a caretaker Not a full installer for voice/data networks, so a $200 Poe tester was out of the question. . You can't go wrong with this PoE detector after crimping, installing or troubleshooting cables. It easily fits in your pocket. Just write your name on it so it doesn't slip in someone else's pocket!

Installed several PoE cameras and had to make custom length ethernet cables. I wanted to make sure the cables are properly connected before connecting the cameras to the dash cam's 802.af PoE ports as I have never connected the ethernet cables before. I also installed a new PoE wireless access point using a 24V passive power injector with a custom length cable.
