My 15 year old fridge made a clicking noise but the fridge freezer was still cold and the ice maker was slow to make ice. I've noticed that the compressor takes a few tries before it starts, sometimes 30 minutes after it cools down. I checked the capacitor and it was within range. The start relay and overload protection test also went well, but is probably in the final phase. I replaced the starter relay and capacitor and the clicking problem went away and the compressor started up immediately.
