They easily remove layers of nail polish that I found difficult to remove with acetone based nail polish remover. They have a slightly oily feel, which I wasn't expecting, but I love how they feel and smell different than other removers I've tried. I almost threw away the metal foil seal before reading the instructions but the instructions say to leave it on the pads in the container to keep it from drying out and it seems to work.
