The Renogy DC-DC On-Board Battery Charger with MPPT is designed to charge service batteries at the most effecient rate from two DC input, solar panels and the vehicles alternator. Compatible with multiple deep cycle battery types: AGM, GEL, Flooded, and Lithium. Sophisticated automatic 3-phase charging profile (Bulk, Boost, and Float) ensures your service battery will be accurately charged at the correct voltage levels to 100%. Built-in Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) for user friendly setup with traditional alternators. Smart Protection Features: battery isolation, over-voltage protection, battery temperature protection, over-current protection, overheat protection, reverse current protection, solar panel and alternator reverse polarity protection.

Serves its purpose.

I like that there is instant information on the temperature, current and voltage of house and starter batteries. However, you cannot program the display of current and voltage at the same time. Not a deal breaker for me. I would recommend but it's a bit pricey for a volt/ammeter. I don't have any support information.

The instructions don't help much

So theoretically a great thing and works very well. The downside is that the instructions are not clear or written correctly, such as: B. 65 and 75 amps and a fuse that isn't there when you have. Generator signal cable that needs to be connected to a 12V source no matter what generator you have. It was a very disappointing setup.

Check the specs first!

Nice concept but the solar panel 25v input voltage is too low to be practical unless you build your system from scratch. . I replaced my panels (with Renolgy) and paired them with BT2 and now I have 50% of the charging power I was used to and less diagnostic information available in the DC Home app than my cheap Tracer Bn controller for 3x the money !

Works much better than BT-2

related information. Indicates the battery voltage and charging current coming from the controller. I would like them to include monitoring the power used with a shunt or hall sensor, but you can use another product for that. Buy this for Renogy controllers, not a bluetooth monitor. This one really works, but this one doesn't. Would buy again.

Manual out of date - Incorrect information - Lockout - Headache

This installation has been described as "easy" which was a lie: the hardware was simple enough, the software was a complete mess with no instructions or manuals. Support is available if you have to wait an hour in standby mode just to disconnect. After receiving assistance, he re-reads the manual for you and gives conflicting information depending on who is in charge. Does not work with BT-2 and Lithium batteries and charge controllers

I consulted them before purchasing Solar Panels - Lithium Batteries - Charge Controllers - BT-2 and remote battery indicator are all Renogy products. - Hired a professional boat electrician to install - poor instructions - can't get the charge controller to charge the starter battery as advertised and can't connect the blue tooth module or remote battery panel and despite 12 hours of waiting and dozens of emails working - you pull it in.
