Replaced the cartridge with this product, now the leakage is worse. I read something later about not adding too much silicone oil as this will ruin the seals, but the instructions didn't say that and I'm not sure if that's the problem or the rubber seals. too narrow for Moen devices. I guess I'll have to order a real Moen cartridge.

The part I received was defective - the plastic shoulder facing you protruded too far after installation preventing the mounting bracket from being inserted. It was only slightly longer as you can see in the photo (old part on the left, new defective part on the right). After I gave up using this product I bought an original Moen part which fitted perfectly.

STOP. Don't buy this cheap Moen copy. I'm a retired apprentice plumber, should have known better than to buy that cheap crap. It's slightly larger which makes installation difficult, although it's very well lubricated with silicone grease. And it dripped after installation even though the valve body was clean and in good condition. I pulled out this cheap knockout and replaced it with a Moen part. It fits perfectly and doesn't leak. Please learn from my stupid mistake.

The packaging has been opened and the re-attempt at gluing was unsuccessful. Product and instructions were dirty and worn out. There was no lube. Turns out it was sold, delivered and tried to install, returned and sent to me. I live in the country and my shower was broken. This tool saved me a lot of time and money by making it easier to remove the 1225 Moen cartridge. I have several in my house and the first one started dripping a few weeks ago.
