This lamp sparkled and smoked in the first few hours of wearing. The wire inside was not properly insulated (cloth, not rubber) and caused a short circuit because it could come into contact with the metal lever. I'm glad it didn't set the house on fire. I do not recommend.

This lamp reminds me of the one my dad had on his desk in the 80's. It's heavier than I thought it would be, but in my opinion it makes up for it better. The location of the USB port might put some people off - I wish it was on the back instead of the front so everyone can see it. But given the looks, quality and price, I'm willing to ignore it!

I would return it immediately as soon as I had completely removed the lamp from the foam packaging and sent it back if I hadn't taken a few photos to check. it looked much more impressive in another reviewer photo, in my example it looks like cheap spray paint. The lamp arrived in perfect condition but as mentioned the design has changed. The power control is a brass knob at the top of the lampshade instead of a rocker switch at the base. It looks good, but it's less convenient to get to. Also, the cord that carries power from the base to the lamp is a fabric-covered cord that's too long to fit the lower arm neatly into the round angle adjustment mechanism next to the base.
