Great Spring: Parts

I put 3 inch spacers on my '97 XJ springs. The problem with this setup was that the stock springs were too soft and I kept hitting the bumpers. These 3.5" RE springs are made from significantly thicker steel. The result is a great ride quality on and off road. To me they fit RC 1071 lower arms, stock fenders, Daystar KJ09114BK bumpers and 255/75/ 17 32" Duratracs. Now for a nice setup. The standard front apron is minimally trimmed, the back of the front fender is not frayed.

  • Country of Origin: United States
Cons
  • Everything OK

There is nothing like this

$500 with cut outs and BPE. These springs offer an exceptional ride, I ended up with about 4.5" in the front and 5" in the rear with Procomp reeds. The ride on these springs is nice and firm, with enough damping I would compare it to a European car. My 23 year old XJ drives like a brand new SUV and I am very happy. I would definitely recommend these springs to anyone looking for the best product available *minus the OME maybe* for the exceptional value that Revain.com offers. Shipping was fast,

Good springs on spare parts

To be honest, they start very hard and uncomfortable for the first few uses. But after that they are perfect. Ideal if you have a heavy rig, it won't sag at all. The lift advertised is much less than what it gives you. Mine sits on an instep of about 4.5 inches. Excellent driving characteristics at high speed. Even without an anti-roll bar, the car looks like it has an anti-roll bar.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great springs, the best in shocks, struts and suspension

I used 3" spacers on my stock 97 XJ springs. The problem with this setup was that the stock springs were too soft and I kept hitting the bump stops. The standard front apron is minimally trimmed, the back of the front fender is not frayed.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons

They are a bit high.

Installed on a 1998 Jeep XJ. with RE, LCA Core4x4 monotube shock absorbers and tie rod. In any case, the front end has increased by more than 3.5 inches. I'd say it's more of a 4-4.5" with a 31" MT and a fairly heavy winch bumper. The winch is not installed yet. Glue the replacement fenders to the inside of the roll before installation. The gap was narrow, but that was done on the front of the driveway, not on the garage lift. so you can do that. Just make sure you have some tall (and some…

More quality material from RE

Installed these RE springs on the front of my 2000 XJ and am very pleased. However, do not forget to install longer shock absorbers at the same time. The stock shocks are beefed up and limit lift, which is a very bad (and dangerous) way to limit travel! Do yourself a favor and first remove the old shock absorbers, disconnect the front brake lines (from the calipers), then remove the tie rod bolt from the lower passenger side and the center link from the bipod arm. This allows you to lower the…
