I bought these shoes hoping they would be good for cross training and strength training but they were disappointing. When lifting weights, they felt weak and like my feet weren't touching the ground. Why 1 star?1) These shoes have no clutch. They slide everywhere. I can't swing properly or jump in without fear of serious injury. 2) They started falling apart when I first put them on. 3) They are painful! It's not about size, it's about design. I've been doing Zumba for about 15 years, I'm in my golden years and used to wear dance shoes that were worn out so I bought cross shoes which hurt my knees, hips and back. To be honest, if it wasn't for the tongue on this shoe I would have kept it. But before I go there, I always take 7 1/2 - in any type of shoe. I never had to go up a size but I took the advice and ordered a size 8 and it fit me perfectly - no extra room at all - perfect. They have little arch support; not as much as I would like, but certainly not much. I also bought the Zumba Strong and in comparison the Zumba Strong has about the same arch support but better cushioning than the Influence 2.5.

Ordered in my regular sizes Medium and Wide. Although very comfortable to wear, I used to look at my foot while walking and these shoes make my foot rotate oddly while walking. In both M and W widths, the insole of the shoe protrudes OVER the sides of the sole; both when I wear them and when they are empty!
