Converting from the original, I don't understand the negative reviews

Having bought the original flashlight with the Ryobi kit 15 years ago, I decided to convert rather than buy a lightbulb. It's smaller than expected, which I really like. The LED bulb is bright and shines further than my large D cordless flashlight. I have a high capacity battery and it fits my hand perfectly, maybe a little tilted forward but definitely not a deal breaker.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Excellent and bright light. I appreciate all the thought that went into the design. There must be half a dozen ways this thing fits over 2x4s, nails, hangers and other handy attachment points. Even if you put the handle on the post, you can still pivot the light all the way to the ground if you wish. Read the instructions to see how it depends on different things and you'll probably find that you have other tools with the same capabilities!

Really good flashlight

If you've already invested in Ryobi's battery ecosystem, this is a no-brainer. The flashlight lies comfortably in the hand and has the right weight thanks to the 2 ampere-hour battery. I suspect this would be a bit impractical with a 9Ah battery, but I can't think of many use cases that would require such a large battery. I particularly like that it has a flat base and the light can be directed in almost any direction when the flashlight is on its base. The beam is particularly bright and…

Decent and durable but not very bright

Having bought a ton of flashlights over the last few years I was surprised to see how spoiled I've become with the advent of LED technology. In terms of light output, this flashlight is sufficient at best. Ten years ago it probably would have earned ten stars, but it's easily the second most mediocre and clunky flash I own (I still have a bulb). However, if you are looking for reliable service and the ability to use Ryobi's One battery system is vital to you, this unit will perform as expected.

Got my flashlight back

After reviewing my options for replacing a faulty bulb in an older model of this flashlight and seeing that it would be difficult and expensive as there wasn't much else to do I was able to get a new model this flashlight that still uses the battery that I used for the old flashlight. What's even better, the new flashlight is LED, so there's little chance of you changing the bulb or buying a brand new flashlight. It's nice to have a great flashlight that works again, with very good battery life

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

Cute Little Flashlight: Hand Torches

I bought two of these, one as a gift for my mom. She loves her little flashlight. Slightly odd handle design but does the job. The battery lasts a long time when the light is used intermittently as if you would normally use a flashlight, it's a bright light maybe even brighter than my hard flashlight which costs a lot more; It has a few dots (notches) on the handle to hang it on a nail or screw for work, it sits nicely on top of the battery when you need to tighten it. The lamp itself rotates…

Lightweight, Compact and Versatile

I really wanted this latest Ryobi torch for its versatility and I was not disappointed. I'm an electrical contractor and there are multiple ways to install and hang this light and the swivel head meets most of my needs. I also like that it is very light, even with the battery, and its shape makes it very easy to fit in my tool bag. A single LED bulb focuses the light more than I'd like (as opposed to a wider beam spread like my headlamp does), but it has a long range and long battery life. I…

What should all the lights be.

This is the second time I have bought this product because I really liked the first one. I have some Ryobi tools. This flashlight works with standard Ryobi batteries and produces very bright and clear light for many hours. It's bright enough to do a project at night. It would be more correct to call it a working lamp. It's more than a flashlight. The center beam is focused to illuminate objects in the distance, but it also emits significant light at the periphery, so it serves as both a…

Shipping and seller are the problem, not the product is a must.

I've only had the product a few hours and can confirm that it works: the LED seems solid and bright, the One+ batteries I have and it looks like it has it's a multi-day trip, to be honest. unprotected. Balance is a bit awkward (leaning forward due to battery placement), but this can be compensated for with a little creative counterbalancing. But there is always a 'but' with a 3 star rating, the listing for this product did not state that it would be repackaged and repackaged very poorly (see…
