Redemption for heavy doors!

The previous contractor used half inch screws for a heavy door. Gastronomy game with house service. This was the lowest price I could find for 2 1/4" screws. I love that they have a satin nickel finish to match the satin nickel hinges I received for the renovation .They screw in easily and don't break which I feared with the torque required.Highly recommend!

Pros
  • Phillips pan head screws
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

not worth the money

I bought these screws to match the expensive hinges I replaced on a door bought secondhand. I figured I needed longer screws than hinges so I bought them the same style. These are not good screws. They come off very easily and I had to throw away a lot of them after trying to screw them in because they didn't go in that well. I would buy better quality screws even if the finish is not perfect. They are ridiculously expensive for the quality.

Pros
  • Made from high quality steel with a satin nickel finish
Cons
  • There are new competitors out there

the screw that comes with the hinge. The head keeps getting smaller. The shank of a wood screw is larger at the head and tapers towards the tip. They have a profile similar to that of a self-tapping screw. Although the thread is stretched like a screw. Like others, I couldn't find a package or box of screws as one reviewer suggested. My store only has 2 packs. The problem is that these nickel hardware kits only come with 1" screws, which isn't enough for an exterior door. Therefore, it is…
