Description of Seachem 🐠 Discus Buffer 1kg

IDEAL ENVIRONMENT: The Discus Buffer helps to replicate the ideal Discus environment of low pH and low GH (General Hardness). Discus Buffer will lower pH and keep it lowered. SOFTENS WATER: Discus Buffer softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium. OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE: To help obtain optimal health and performance for your Discus, you can combine with Seachem’s Neutral Regulator in combination with Discus Buffer to achieve the desired pH when performing water changes or adding top off water. TANK USE: Use 1 level teaspoon (5 g) for every 40-80 L (10-20 US gallons) daily until intended pH is reached. Thereafter, use once a month or with water changes as required to maintain a balanced pH. SAFETY: Discus Buffer is safe for all freshwater fish acclimated to acid pH. Contains phosphate buffers and conditioning agents.

Detective with forged seal

Ordered several times. The last 2 times the packaging has been damaged and the product is much less effective. I checked my pH because my wild discus looked very stressed and in fact the pH went from 6.4 to 7.2! The pH from the tap didn't change, so the product was tampered with. Judging by other people's complaints about the fake seals, this seller is clearly NOT HONEST. I will not buy again!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Almost everything in order

I have opened/used?

When I opened the tin, I had the feeling that the product was standing on the edge. spiky sandy texture and noise when I opened it. The seal was half closed like it was either really open or the seal wasn't properly sealed and pulled off easily. The product was not filled with power like it was new. Seems like a quarter is missing like they sent me a returned/used product. The product itself is designed to lower the pH of discus. If my pH meter isn't wrong, it's still just about 7. The semi…

Product works: Aquarium water treatment

It works. Although the directions say 5 grams per 10-20 gallons, I should use a total of 80 grams to treat 35 gallons of tap water to lower the pH to 7.0. Although I don't grow any plants in my tank, this product does contain phosphates and the amount I'm adding worries me a bit. So far my discus are still eating and swimming well, but I'm trying to do my best to lower the pH with fewer chemicals. So it works to pump it out and doesn't kill your kH which helps maintain your buffer unlike…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Seachem disk buffer used with Seachem neutralizer, I can lower the pH to anywhere from 6.8 to 5.8 and stabilize it. I have been using the Discus Buffer for fifteen (15) years to reproduce the ideal habitat for discus and other Revane River fish (low pH and low GH {general hardness}). Discus Buffer lowers the pH and keeps it at your chosen pH level; It also softens the water (by precipitating calcium and magnesium), which is why I also use Discus Trace to restore the right levels of…
