Bought this item 13 months ago. Used for my 13" Macbook Pro for home use. Never been dropped, spilled or damaged in any way by a consumer, but after a year the following ports stopped working: SD card reader, Micro SD reader and BOTH USB 2.0 Ports. For now the HDMI and USB-C ports are still working, but only time will tell how long they'll be down too. Too bad I didn't get the best bang for my buck 😔

While these things that plug directly into your computer without wires might seem like a good idea, I found them to be quite wobbly and I was concerned that they would break the USB-C my MacBook Pro's ports with all the hesitation. The unit got very hot when I plugged in the video cable and was driving my 4K monitor and after a while the video output dropped and stopped working. I returned it for a refund.

I have not used this product yet. It seems that this will fix all the shortcomings of the Apple USB. I still don't know why Apple removed secure magnetic charging and also left at least one traditional USB slot. Once I use it I will update my review.

This product is fine but I am using a Wacom tablet that requires an HDMI connection. Most of the time my Wacom screen won't connect unless I've fiddled with the connection many times or kept disconnecting and then reconnecting It's very annoying and doesn't satisfy me. Also, when this product is switched, your hard drive will give a message stating that it was improperly unmounted. That being said, I think it's useful to have all those connections. while they work when you need them.
