I doubt these lamps emit UV. I set the tester below one and the UVB output is zero. I'm no expert, but testing more typical UV lamps (coil or tubular UV lamps) gives me readings.

Inexpensive heat lamp for our turtles. Cases get hot, so be careful when touching them. There are 3 bulbs in the kit but one died after only 2 months. The clamp is strong and holds firmly to the tank glass.

The light worked great, my turtles and lizards were happy with it and they are better than the big dome bulbs. But 2 days after the right of return expired, one just stopped working, we changed the light and tried a few sockets, it wouldn't come on. After 4 days the second one did the same.😞

The first bulb I pulled when turning on 3 is dead. The other 2 bulbs are ok but not sure if they will last long. the best thing about this article. The sockets and clips feel fragile, my iguana can easily knock them off when he gets excited. I will only use them as temporary lighting in the garage when I'm fixing things.

Update: I replaced the original thin wire going through the flexible neck with a larger wire (which I could hardly miss). These are the photos with the wire attached. Connections still burn out behind the lamp. I think the combination of poor connector material causes a lot of heat from the current draw of the 50 watt bulb and a closed fixture that doesn't allow airflow will cause the wire insulation to burn through and cause shorts.
