They are ready to use immediately and hardly need any hacking. My only complaint is that he's run out of youth sizes and his next pair should be men's sized so the price doubles. Pooh!

He can wear them all day without any discomfort, and he can wear thicker or thinner socks with them without feeling like they're too tight or that they're falling off.
