Inconsistent readings

I bought this in May 2020 because I need a 0.2 step scale. My old Tanita who is 20 years old only makes 0.5. Weight fluctuations can range from 0.2 to 3#. I even showed him 1.6# when nothing was touching him. Tanita's customer service was a joke and not helpful at all. I could have just gone with the lemon, but it definitely didn't live up to my expectations for Tanita.

  • Fingers crossed

Missing my old Tanita at Health Monitors

I miss my old Tanita which I used daily for about 15 years. It remembered the weight of 4 people and was easy to use. It eventually wore out and I replaced it with this one because it was rated the highest on Revain. I figured out how to measure the water and fat percentage on it, but I won't be using these features very often. Nothing wrong with it except that it has features I don't need and doesn't have basic storage that I need.

Accurate Weight BMI NOT

The scale seems accurate but BMI is definitely not accurate for me as it shows I'm morbidly obese with a BMI of 47 lol. According to most standard medical records, I'm about 25 pounds overweight and not even obese, let alone morbidly obese. My husband's measurements appear to be more accurate. I can only assume mine won't work as I have small feet (size 6) that don't fully cover the silver pads. The manual doesn't help much either. It takes time to figure out the settings and usage

Battery is annoying: medical supplies and equipment

I bought it in August 2020 and had to put in new batteries about every 3 weeks. This week they lasted 4 days. 4 days. Batteries are getting more expensive, that's the balance at the moment. This is the second battery of this brand that I own. The last one lasted about 8 years(?), maybe longer, and I never had to change the batteries. The batteries came from different packaging, so it's not a battery quality issue. I am so disappointed. I would be interested if anyone else had this problem or if

Disappointed with the accuracy

I'm only giving this product 2 stars because the weight specs seem pretty accurate. Half a pound difference compared to a doctor's office scale and other brand household scales. If you're looking for a scale to accurately determine your body fat or water percentage, choose a different scale. I started out 50 pounds overweight at 40% fat and an average of 42% water. I've lost 30 of my 50 pounds and the scale is still 40% fat and 42% water. During my last physical exam I mentioned this to my…

The scale is good, accurate, not as easy to use as the old ones

Very accurate scale. When compared in the doctor's office, it was accurate to a tenth of a pound. What I don't like about it, compared to the older one I had that eventually died, is this: 1. It only stores information about two people, not four, 2. Only has a "one button" instead of one per person, 3. Requires touching the sock's on/off button and then bending down to press two buttons to select the person to be weighed; Unlike the old one, which had an individual touch button to select the…

Stable, accurate readings. Although the display could be brighter.

Tanita makes great scales. My last one broke after a few years (about 12 actually) falling from a pretty high height onto a hard floor. It has been reset many times in the past but it worked last time. I was devastated. I wanted another Tanita but didn't know which one to buy as the one I had before was no longer for sale. I did a lot of research to find a scale that seemed to be the most consistent and has held up well. I came to the conclusion that UM-081 is exactly that scale. They were well
