It takes about 4 or 5 weeks to work but when they're done your skimmer will throw up some nasty stuff. Also make sure to keep the Alcohol level a bit lower while dosing the charcoal or you will lighten the LPS/SPS. I should keep mine at 7.5-8 where I used to be closer to 10-11 dx.

My nitrate levels are very high I tried pellets years ago but didn't have the patience but decided to give it another try. I had 50+ppm on my test kit and nothing looked that great. I ran them with a pretty decent somersault and didn't expect to see much change in 48 weeks. Well, in 3-4 weeks my tank went down to zero. Which shocks me. Didn't do anything else, just a normal 10% water change weekly. So you worked for me. I will buy again for refills.
