It has a orange LED displays. ► Remote control: E30 with a remote control , it is easy to select the input mode, etc. ► Distortion levels are incredibly low at -120 dB and lower. The addition of noise takes SINAD down to 112 dB which is most competent for a small little DAC like this.

The E30 is a steal when it's $100 below the asking price.

So I used an old DAC from 2010, believe it or not, USB dongle Old "Micro II" from Turtle Beach. was excited to "upgrade" to a modern DAC. The system consists of a base PC, a DAC, an Alesis RA100 studio-grade power amplifier, and Alesis Monitor One's studio-grade reference monitors. This setup was damn good. When I set up my New Topping E30, the first question was how unfriendly it is to Linux. You can get it to show the right file dates (192) IF you use the right options in your software/player

Sounds awful in preamp mode

I am interested in this product as a preamp for my media center which has a Toslink signal from the TV that needs to be converted to analog and fed into my Crown XLS1502 amplifier which powered a pair of JBL Studio 530s in DAC mode it sounds good, but in preamp mode (the only mode with volume control) it completely falls apart. The sound is harsh and tiring to my ear. This is really frustrating because I need to be able to adjust the volume on this unit and as it sounds awful in preamp mode…

Updated Test: Sounds as good, maybe even better, than my TEAC, which cost me over $400!

This thing is amazing and I can even hear some sounds of songs I didn't hear on my more expensive TEAC like the bell in "Born on the Bayou". I like two modes, DAC and PreAmp. I only use it in a DAC and it drives one of two tube amps and I have to say it's a great buy at $129! I have the silver one and it gets power from a larger USB power adapter (2.1 amp connector) rather than the computer's lame USB port.
