Bad sector occurred after 6 months of use

I bought two N300 6TB hard drives for my new NAS. After installing it and continuing to work, everything is great. 6 months later, one of the hard drives has bad sectors and cannot be used for this NAS. I tried to contact Toshiba through their website, they ask me to provide the part number. After giving them the part number, I received no response for about 2 weeks. I swear I will never buy a Toshiba product like this again. There doesn't seem to be any after-sales service at all.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some little things

4096 byte sectors and works fine

Has 4096 byte sectors (contrary to what other reviewers said) and works fine. It generates heat when reading and writing, making it unsuitable for a small, fanless case (mine got up to 53 degrees Celsius, just 2 degrees below maximum operating temperature). The only NAS server I've used has lots of fans, and its NAS-grade drives put out the same amount of heat. When placing such a drive in a dock, it is common to orient the dock so that the drive is vertical; On this drive I saw a 5 degree…

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Minor issues

The screenshot shows that the low number of operating hours together with the number of reallocated sectors demonstrates the main feature of this disk: it fails, fast and bad. 90's, it will make my entire NAS vibrate, even with the rubber mounts for the drive bays. In addition, he left the squad after only a few months. I added it back and it worked for a few more months but stopped again. Attempting to add it back fails after several hours before eventually going into a 'Lost Connection'…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • For retirees

On the screenshot you can see that the low running time together with the number of reallocated sectors demonstrates the main feature of this drive: it crashes, fast and hard. and squeaks like a 90's drive, it would make my entire NAS vibrate, even with the rubber drive bay bumpers on. In addition, he left the squad after only a few months. I added it back and it worked for a few more months but stopped again. Internal hard drives with excellent value for money

Home NAS. 6TB just couldn't be beat for the price, so after a thorough study of the N300 series I decided to give it a try. The drives are pretty fast for what they're used for (first tested with a SATA to USB dock and I managed to get around 200MB/s). I've only had them for a few weeks and have found two "issues" with them. First is the noise, these drives make sure you know when the head is moving which is a bit annoying since my NAS is in my bedroom but I doubt most people have their NAS in…

Pros
  • High reliability with a workload of up to 180 TB per year(6)
Cons
  • No automatic configuration
