I needed a clamp to hold the fireplace door handle which was dangling and dangling in the door. I removed the handle from the door, placed the drill stop on the end of the handle, and reattached the handle to the door. After getting the handle in the right position, I tightened the set screw. Valla! No more dangling grip. It may not be exactly the application it was designed for, but it worked brilliantly for the purpose I needed.
A significant amount of metal splinters protruded from the end of the set screw hole into the hole. This was the case for both units. I needed to move forward with my renovation so I took the time to submit it. Even then it doesn't quite fit the 10mm shaft. I'll make it, but it shouldn't be that hard. I have never seen a shaft coupling with this problem. Unfortunately no picture. I was in a hurry to fix the mower.
They were cheap enough that I shouldn't complain, but they weren't exotic devices; They are a ring depth gauge with a set screw. The set screws were so junk they snapped off immediately making depth adjustment impossible and very difficult to remove.
