Not as easy as 1,2,3!

Don't get me wrong, the concept of this device is amazing, just by connecting two wires and a few screws, the convenience of charging our phones would be amazing! However, what I didn't realize until I bought it is that you also need to have a hole big enough for the centerpiece to fit in, THIS WILL NOT FIT THE FLASH! So once I can hone my woodworking skills to build a platform that will stand between the installation site and the charger, it stays on my workbench. which translates to "Garage…

Expensive but effective

Looks solid and has been on the road for over 2,000 rides without a problem. Installation was easy and relatively easy. I connected the 12V wiring going to the ceiling reading light in my Winnebago Navion 24V - there was plenty of wiggle room so I didn't need to add wires, just plugs. Unlike other USB ports I've reviewed, this Valterra unit only required about an inch of depth for installation, which fits nicely in the gap between the bezel and the interior shelf of the cabinet above (no…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Not the last in charging stations

This is my second and they both did the same thing. They work fine for a month or so and then fail. They stop charging my phone or charge so slowly that it takes me 2 days to fully charge it. I checked the yield after a month and it's low. It's hard to believe that you can get junk for this price.

Pros
  • RoHs compliant
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine

Great for caravans

Easy to install. With two kids who love to play games and watch videos before bed, I installed it over the top bunk in our RV for my daughter to use. The instructions and dimensions were correct. The white version was in reserve, but the black one doesn't stand out. In general very satisfied. I am using the existing wiring for the light above the bunk for the USB connection. After two trips there were no problems. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • 2-line design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great idea to add USB ports to the camper

Our five wheeler camper didn't have an outlet on the side of the bed so he needed an extension cord, the one from the other wall came to charge her phone at night. There were two 12v reading lights at the head of the bed so I connected them to the ones on the side and routed the cables as low as possible (the wall is a SIPS board - the foam is sandwiched between the inner wall board). and the outer trim), so it needed some work. After the two cables are routed, installation is easy. Works…

Pros
  • for charging phones, tablets, gps and more
Cons
  • I'll be silent
