Van Aken International Kato Translucent Polyclay Review

This shade arrived fresh and was easy to work with. My hands get warm so I read that this brand would be the easiest for me and that's for sure! sticky dough when I roll it in my hands.

Harder than Premo, dries to a matte or gloss finish depending on color. I would recommend using a conditioning pasta machine; They can be hand rolled, but it takes a little more time and effort than softer clays. Not sticky at all.

Okay warning EXTREMELY hard to set up but oh my god once you get it working its awesome. Really hard and fingerprint resistant when working and insanely strong and flexible when baking. Another warning: it has a chemical smell that might bother some people, but I was fine with that. You may not want to bake it right before you plan to use the kitchen.

The putty I received is very crumbly and hard, it is VERY DIFFICULT to work with, even after a long time work it is still very crumbly and doesn't want to lay down that well. I will definitely be buying a clay conditioner to work with this stuff. The smell is very plastic and stronger than other brands I've used. I wouldn't recommend this clay, I think I'd rather spend the extra $2 per block and buy Sculpey Premo instead. Maybe it works better after the conditioner

Looking for a clay that can be cut and sliced without a piece breaking, I came across Kato Polyclay. ; Durable and reliable in use. I just had a couple of questions: I guess this clay isn't at all as well known as the Sculpey brand, so it's harder to find online, especially if you're looking for more than 2oz. Another downside is that it's more expensive. You're certainly getting a great product, but don't be surprised if you see great prices compared to other clays.

This is better than any tone I have ever used and I will definitely be ordering again! It's a bit tricky to use, but perfect for detail work. It can be smoothed over very easily and leaves no fingerprints. I have very cold hands, but you can knead a little. But for those struggling with this: I used a microwave cap (for sore muscles etc, but a heating pad works just as well), put the clay in a ziplock bag, then folded the heating cap over it.
